Goodbye Earth, I am moving to Mars!
This is not a story but an experience I had. That was our last day, on the planet I loved once a lot and called it home, the Earth. I loved the greenery, the birds, the colourful butterflies, flowers and the blue sky. But all those were not left anymore around, to see. I could not see anything other than plastics, dirt and garbage everywhere. Neither the birds were chirping around. Mumma told me that humans had destructed all the natural resources and littering turned a huge pile of garbage everywhere. The pollution level was very high so no oxygen was left for us to breathe-in. Few years back, when we had trees, we breathe the air normally without masks but later we had to switch to oxygen cylinders and masks. Also, there were so many deadly viruses so we stopped going out to play. I really felt sad on seeing the sadness around. My parents were saying we would have to start everything from scratch in the Mars. We had to do farming, weaving and all households to start a new life. We might have to walk miles to fetch drinking water as we could not have our vehicles there. I just wished, we could have stayed back on Earth, restored it and cleaned it up. With a heavy heart I moved into the spaceship with my family to start our journey to Mars. But suddenly! I heard my mother screaming at me, “Aditi, get up. It’s 7:30 am already!”. I suddenly woke up in shock and realised that I was just having a night mare. I was happy to look around that we were still on the Earth. But I learnt a lesson from this dream, that its time we should start caring for our Earth. We need to plant trees, stop littering around and say no to pollution.
